Rahilia Hasanova

Sept 20 – Rahilia Hasanova in Recital (with special guest, flutist Jill Dreeben).  This event, co-sponsored by The Gardarev Center and the Rebecca Clarke Society, will honor famed Azerbaijan composer and pianist, Rahilia Hasanova, in a special recital of her piano and flute music. Hasanova’s music is deeply steeped in the folk, spiritual and meditative traditions of her homeland.  3PM, Women’s Studies Research Center (Epstein BLDG/515 South St, Brandeis University).  [Part of a series of Gardarev ℠ social entertainment events and live musical performances in the fields of  social justice, meditation, and the artistic, creative, literary, and performance arts.]

Sept. 2 – Board Member, Mushim Ikeda leads “Remembering Our Wholeness” retreat for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees of Starr King Divinity School, Berkeley, CA – as they cultivate multi-religious, counter-opressive, just and sustainable communities.  First Unitarian Church, Oakland, CA.

June 2-8 –  Mushim Ikeda teaches 16th Annual People of Color Meditation Retreat at Vallecitos Mountain Refuge in New Mexico (with Ven. Suhita Dharma).

June 24 – Advisory Group Member, Todd Lester, leads panel discussion at the “Artist Residencies & Conflict Areas” conference hosted by the Goethe Institute in New York. 7-9pm. Goethe-Institute Wyoming Building/5 East 3rd Street/New York, NY 10003.
